Most recently, Stephenie worked as a therapeutic support practitioner with foster carers and children for 3 years. During this time Stephenie embedded her learning around attachment theory, trauma informed practice and behavioural support, into practice. With her experience, Stephenie has a wealth of knowledge about working within government and non government systems including the NDIS.

Stephenie has a passion for helping others, a love for horses, and discovered the powerful healing of Equine Assisted Counselling through her own personal and professional development journey during 18 months of intensive study with Equine Assisted Therapy Australia. Stephenie has a love for horses which developed in childhood and has endured throughout her life. Stephenie has been privileged to have her own horse for several years, building a strong connection and bond, and enjoying trail riding in beautiful places across Australia. Stephenie has engaged in horsemanship clinics as part of her continued learning and practice and has a strong appreciation for respecting horses and providing them choice in sessions.
Stephenie has a calm, gentle and caring nature, and adopts a person-centred, strengths-based and trauma informed approach to supporting others. Stephenie also has a playfulness and sense of humour that may assist children and adults to feel comfortable and safe within sessions where there may be anxiety around engaging in therapy. Stephenie supports individuals in sessions using equine assisted therapy, art therapy, mindfulness, nature-based therapy and gestalt therapy principles to assist individuals to become more self aware, to understand their experiences, to learn about their patterns in relationships, to become more present and grounded, to explore distressing and traumatic experiences, and learn healthy ways to cope with stress by providing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship and holding space.
